We offer 2 classes for young children.   
Both classes will foster an enjoyment of  
music while introducing core elements of
music (rhythm,volume, pitch, tempo) through
fun songs, dance, stories and music games.

Classes will meet at 202 South Broadway,
room 208 on the 2nd floor of the
"post office" and IMC building in downtown Urbana.


Ages 3 to 5 years: Summer 2010
Our next six-week session will start Sunday, June 6 and end on July 18.  
There will be no class on July 4.

This class will focus on introduce your 3-5 year olds to beginning
in music theory and ear
t
raining in a fun and stimulating style!  We'll use fun games and songs to teach concepts such
as rhythm,
meter, pitch, and timbre.  We will also enjoy songs that work on alphabet recognition
and counting, adding elements of creativity by composing our own words and verses.

In addition we teach of the basics of violin and/or piano technique.
There has been interest in
both violin and piano instruction for this session,
and you may choose from a menu of class
options.

Weekly schedule:
Violin class: 3:00-3:15
General Music Games and Songs: 3:15-3:45
Piano class: 3:45-4:00

Fee structure: Cost menu for the six-week session.

  • Violin and General Music OR General Music and Piano is $90. (45 minute class)
  • Just the General Music class is $60. (30 minute class)
  • Both instrument sessions (violin and piano) plus the General Music session is $120. (60
    minute class)

Parents are encouraged to attend class and learn along with
their children for no extra fee!

Limited scholarship funds are available for those with financial need.

your child experiences and responds to music.  

The cost for a 6-week session is $60; please inquire about our family rate for multiple siblings.
Parents should plan to stay with their children during this class.
